STWingCS has recently moved all of its systems from our aging Solaris-based infrastructure to a new Linux-based system on new hardware. Because of this a lot of systems have been rebuilt from scratch. If you notice any problems please contact SysAdmin.

Between 12pm and 2pm we experienced an internal network issue which made made force and singularity unable to access the account database or file storage. During this window mail was either held on the sending server or returned to sender. Thanks to Seth for running back to KCECH to sort this out.

All authentication services are down because the SSL certificate on ldap.stwing.upenn.edu expired today. Once the certificate is replaced service will be restored.
Update: The certificate has been replaced and things should be back to normal.

We are currently experiencing a problem with out authentication server which may not be resolvable until someone is able to be physically present in the server room. Unfortunatly it's Thanksgiving so everybody is home suffering from a turkey coma. Expect mail to start bouncing back to senders if this keeps up for more than 4 hours.
Update: Thanks to some heroic work by Phil things are back up and running.

Those of you who don't have the STWing Certificate Authority installed might have noticed that some of our certificates expired today. To avoid problems in the future you should install the certificate by following the instructions on the FAQ here.

We had another unexpected reboot of the authentication server today. When this happens all services go down for a few minutes while the server remains unreachable. We're working on determining the cause of the instability and putting a backup server in place to increase reliability.
